MASK
By REBECCA MASCHER
How do you deal
when your world is falling
before your eyes
and you can do nothing
to stop it.

How do you tell
the person who is completely clueless,
this too shall pass
when she says that "it makes me laugh."

I knew it won't just pass,
but it will end.
This is really difficult to think
of my life crashing before me.

Now it's time to leave
what truthfully is going on,
hide it in your mind
Put on a happy mask.
Don't let the world see you cry!

THE WORLD IS A PAIN
By SABRINA ROGERS
The world is cruel
it's all just pain,
but yet so stupid
just a big stain
on my life I mean,
or maybe a hole.
Love stinks.
It was my heart he stole,
ripped it apart and
broke it in two.
You know who I blame
I blame it on hy ou.
Still I say life stinks
What do you say?
Maybe the same thing,
the world is a pain.

ENDLESS LOVE
BY MELODY KETRON
When I found out I cried,
And the tears still won't stop falling.
All I can think about
Is the memories and happiness you gave me.
You taught me so much,
About life and to take chances.
I know I will always have a guardian angel,
Looking out for me.
Life is short,
But my love for you is endless.

BY MELODY KETRON
Why do you act different around your friends?
How come when it's just you and me,
The sweet-talk never ends?

When they make fun of me, call me names,
You play along with their childish games.
They all laugh when they discover my fears
And you do too because you don't know of my silent tears.

I'm afraid you won't ever recognize
The love I hold for you,
That anyone but you can see,
When I look into your eyes.

THE WONDEROUS DAY
By DANIELLE KLEEMAN
I turned around with my hazel eyes open,
All I see is you.
You turn and walk away,
I run after you.
You face me,
We almost touch we're so close.
You tell me how you feel about me,
Your feelings seem to be true.
You wrap your arms around me,
You make me feel so safe and loved.
We walk side by side,
Hand in hand.
We talk about anything on our minds for hours.
The sun is setting,
You walk me home.
I turn to you,
You turn to me,
I see your mouth about to move.
You say something but I didn't hear,
What it was you said.
I'm dazed by how much I love you.
You touched my face...
Then I open my eyes,
I hear the birds churpping.
I wonder if the wonderous day has been true,
I see my surroundings,
It was all a dream.
I knew it was to good to be true!

EMOTIONS
By MELODY KETRON
Sad is wanting you to love me
When we know it's not okay.
Pain is watching our love suffer
Because I made one mistake.
Hell is knowing you'll never hold me in your arms
Because what I did ripped us apart.
But happiness is knowing
That I'll always be in your heart.

KATRINA'S DAMAGE
By BREEZY LEATHERMAN
While we are sleeping
they are weeping;
When we are awake
they are saying 'for goodness sake!"
When we are laying
they are praying.
When it was sunny here
it was rainy there.
When the gas was high here
they couldn't use it there.

CHANGED
By MELODY KETRON
You didn't like the way I dressed,
So I changed my clothes.
You didn't like the way I thought,
So I changed my mind.
You didn't like the way I talked,
So I changed my voice.
You didn't like that I went to parties,
So I stayed home alone.
Now I'm eveything you wanted,
But you still don't want to be with me.

SOMEONE WHO WILL NEVER KNOW
By MELODY KETRON
When you told me you loved me,
For the very first time,
I finally thought you and I could be.
My heart chimed.
I started to trust you more with each day
And when you didn't want to go,
I let you stay.
I never told you no.
Then you decided you just wanted to be friends,
And I still pretend not to care.
I'll never tell you the pain won't end.
I couldn't tell you, I wouldn't dare.

IN SAYING THAT
By MELODY KETRON
You're the only one who tells me that I'm beautiful,
When my hair is all in a mess.
You've seen me at my worst,
You've seen me at my best.
You know my weaknesses,
You know my faults.
You know my heart,
You know my thoughts.
Whenever I need you,
I know you'll be there.
You tell me you love me
And show me you care.
You know when's something's wrong
Even when I have a smile on my face.
You love me for who I am,
You are my saving grace.
I was lost and then you found me.
You've shown me what love is,
And how to show it.
And in saying all this,
I want to say,"Thank you."
And in saying that,
I want to say,"I love you."

LOSING GRIP
By MELODY KETRON
If life is pain,
Then what is this?
This constant feeling of emptiness.
That loving whisper,
That tempting stare,
The guy I love is never there.
The feeling I get,
That feeling of trust.
It was less than hurt
And more than lust.
My heart skipped a beat,
My hands started shaking,
I get this feeling,
When my heart is breaking.
He touched my skin,
He kissed my lips.
I'm in love with him
And I'm losing my grip.

COME BACK TO MY LOVE
By MELODY KETRON
I sit here and all I can think of is you
The times we spent together and if your love was true
It hurt deeply the day you turned and walked away
You didn't even look back to see if I was okay
The pain inside feels like it has no end
Is this the price we have to pay for our sin
I wish you would come back to me
Follow my love because it can set you free

NO MORE
By MELODY KETRON
No More Rain
Falling from the skies
No more tears
Filling my green eyes
No more songs
About a hurting heart
No more promises
To go back to the start
No more guilt
That you've placed on me
No more hurting
That I have to see
No more worries
About a lost friend
No more going on
No more having to pretend
No more clouds
In my lucid sky
Now I spread my wings
And away, I fly.

WHO CARES?
By SAMANTHA COX
Tell me who cares.
Do you care?
Do I care?
Gosh, why do you care?
So you do care.
Why would you care?
Who cares?

I HATE
By SAMANTHA COX
I hate the way you look at me,
I hate that you're always right.
I hate when we fight you make it all better,
I hate the way you say I love you,
I hate that you care.
I hate that you can make me laugh when I am mad,
So I hate.

MOTHER NATURE
By FOX NAVARRE
Her presence is known by the angelic air about her.
The places that she’s traveled to, the people she’s been among, are obvious
For the glorious breath of life has been blown into them.
Wherever she steps the flowers grow.
To whomever she speaks, their spirits glow,
Whenever she laughs the wind blows,
And from land to land she goes.
The creatures of the earth adore her deeply and truly.
The kindness that she gives out freely, the love that she shares, is obvious
For the glorious ring of endless light surrounds them.
Wherever she moves the rivers flow,
To whomever she touches, she takes away their woes,
Whenever she dances, she knows no foe,
And from land to land she goes.

LIVING HELL
By BRITTANY BANTA
An unbroken curse lay open
and only stopped by day of dawn
all alone, day by day
Soon her soul will be taken away.
She will go someplace safe,
nothing to do but only to wait
She sits on stone
waiting but only to be alone.
She only speaks if told to
and only to do what told to do.
In the land of butterflies
she sits staring at all to die.
Her body is wet and cold
and now it is old
she now knows very well
she is in a living hell.

ONE MORE DAY
By MEGAN STAGGS
I'll never regret the times
we have shared
And I'll never forget
how much you cared.
I know now it's over
and I have one more thing to say
If I had a four-leaf clover,
I'd wish for one more day.

HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?
By GABBY LONDE
One day I was at the grocery store
in the cereal aisle,
looking for cocoa puffs,
when I saw a man I hadn't seen in a while.

He came up to me to chat for a bit,
He asked, "How long has it been?"
He said, "I have no clude as to when I last saw you
Just that it was way back when."

After thinking for a minute,
I answered with great haste,
I said, "It's been 10 long years,
since I was last chased."

"It has been 10 long years,
since I was last hit.
It has been 10 long years,
since I was last bit.

"It has been 10 long years
since I was last used.
It has been 10 long years,
since I was last mentally abused."

He looked at me with evil eyes,
the ones I had seen 10 years ago.
My eyes started to water,
and tears began to flow.

Instead of kicking him,
or whacking him in the head.
I looked straight into his eyes,
and said, "I forgive you, Jed."

"Even though you hurt me,
and fists you threw
I am grateful you taught me,
some things I never knew."

"You taught that women can survive,
raging control freaks like you
and that anyone can forgive,
including me, too.

So I gave him a hug
and a big goodbye.
But as I was walking away, I couldn't believe my ears,
I heard that very big strong man cry.

He called to me in a broken up voice,
as I was walking away,
he pleaded for me to wait,
and to hear what he had to say.

He said, "I am so sorry
for the things I put you through.
It meant a lot for me to hear that,
I just wanted to say thank you."

I paid for my stuff
and left the grocery store.
I got into the car
and decided that I felt pain no more.

This story just goes to show you
that everyone can forgive.
If all people knew that fact,
everyone would have a happier life to live.

ALONE
By DANIELLE KLEEMAN
I'm all alone with only one on my mind,
I remember he's one of a kind.
No one else out there just as sweet as him.

She took him away from me,
My friends say it's okay, but they don't realize,
What he said when he looked into my eyes.

I just can't believe she's keeping him away from me,
Maybe she'll look back on this day and see,
So when I'm alone he's the only one on my mind,
She has him wrapped around her finger.

He doesn't even notice, but he seems alone, too.
Does he think about me, too.
We are both alone, so why can't we be together?
I am alone...for now.

WORK
By MEGAN STAGGS
Work is a time clock
That moves slowly
Work is slaven,
Work means if you're under 17
You get underpaid.

LOVE
By REBECCA ANN MASHER
Love.
It's a strong word! People say I love someone or I love to do something. But do we really know what it means.
Do you yourself know what it means?
The Bible says,
Love is willing to wait instead of demanding.
"Prove you care now!"
Love keeps on being friendly
to people who aren't friendly back
Love doesn't hate the girl who goes out
with the guy you like
Love doesn't brag about your good grades
or the touchdown you made in Friday night's game.
Love isn't stuck up.
Love doesn't think you're better than others
because your clothes are more expensive.
Love doesn't put others down
by acting like they don't count.
Love doesn't care if you're one of the popular crowd.
Love cares about others
Love is patient and kind.
Love doesn't hold grudges.
Love keeps an open mind.
Love always tries to do the right thing.
Love.
Love is so much more than words can even explain.
No matter how much love may confuse us or make us wonder,
I am positive we can all say we love God and always will.
He also loves us no matter how many mistakes we may make
during our kid, teenage, adult, and senior adult years.
This is one love between two
that will never change and will last forever.

LESSONS AND MEMORIES
By GABBY LONDE
Over time, you learn things.
Some things are good,
Some things are bad.
Some things you remember,
Some things you wish you could forget.
But there is one thing,
I think all people should learn,
And remember.
And that is how to be a good person,
And how to treat everyone,
With great respect.
If everyone would do that,
There would be no more bad memories.
Only bad memories with happy endings.

MY BROTHER MITCHELL
By MELODY KETRON
Fighting
Yelling
Slamming doors
Evil looks

All that ever led to was silence
That fighting doesn't mean jack
I just want my brother back

When I needed direction
You led the way
And when I fell
You were there to tell me it was okay

Suddenly you were gone
Off to where all great people belong
You used to tell me when this happened
We'd be together again and it wouldn't be long

Now I have to live without you
Screwing up my life with everything I do
God Bubby,
I really miss you.

MORE THAN A FRINED
By MELODY KETRON
You offer words of praise
You encourage me and help me
In a hundred million ways
You take the time to be a friend
In ways that are yours alone
For even when you're to busy
You'll still write or phone
You take the time to be a friend
The best I ever knew
So my heart is filled with love
From all the things you do

THE FAULT IS MINE
By MELODY KETRON
The fault is mine
I tied myself to an empty heart
But from the start
I was elated
Until your love abated
I hate that
I'm now dwelling in the loss
Constantly reminded of promises broken
Made up with words unspoken
The fault is mine
I can do and readily admit
I allowed myself to be me
Loving hard and feeling strong
Asking questions that seemed wrong
The fault is mine
Misplaced my mind
Between Alpha, Omega
And I picked up the pieces I'd confined
I lied there alone
My pride wouldn't let me beg
Cause I left my desperation at home
So I'm headed out on my own
It's become obvious
You no longer need me
Not wanting me to be free
But I am
I admit the fault is mine

GHOST
By MELODY KETRON
I lie awake alone in bed
I want to dream of you
Waiting for my wings to spread
So I don't feel so blue
To hold you close in my arms
To see that wonderful smile
Everything about your charms
Makes my heart leap a mile
But you are there and I am here
I miss you oh so much
I can almost feel you close and near
I can almost feel your touch
I turn around and look into your eyes
You are whom I want the most
Next to you, my soul it sighs
But it is just your ghost

MY LIFE GOES ON
By TIANA CLEMONS
When I was a little girl,
I never wanted what I got,
But now that I'm older,
I like it on the spot.

My life used to be quiet,
but now, it is loud.
I can't even hear
Every simple sound.

When I was very little,
I hated to go outside.
But now when I go out,
I just hide.

This poem needs an ending,
Like every poem does.
I tried my best
To fill this one with love.

DON'T TELL ME
By MELODY KETRON
Don't tell me you love me,
Don't tell me you care,
Because when I need you the most,
You're never there.

I hate it that I love you
And I hate it that I care
Because when you need me,
I am always there
