Welcome to the Diamond R-4 School District Website.
The Diamond R-4 School District encompasses an area of approximately 80 square miles. The concentration of population is in the town of Diamond and the western one-third of the district. The past five years have seen an overall population in the district and a resulting increase in student population growth in the district and a resulting increase in student population. The district has three major facilities, an elementary school, a middle school and a high school.
Diamond is centrally located fifteen miles southeast of Joplin on Highway 59, midway between Neosho and Carthage. It is a small community with a population of 760. Agriculture is the major economic activity in the school district. Major employers in the district include Level Ride Manufacturing, Gulf States Paper and Four State Supply Company. The unemployment rate of the area is below average. Two colleges, Missouri Southern State College and Crowder College, are within 15 miles of Diamond.
The district has an active parent organization and a Booster Club. It also has a Business Partners program.
