Project CAT Eighth Grade Lock-In

Twelve Hours of Fun

Hi, this is Foxy, the Project CAT Mascot and wow, can those eighth graders ever have fun. I've enjoyed every part of the first Project CAT lock-in (except when Alyssa Simpson grabbed my pizza. You can see a picture of that on this page.) We're going to have do this again sometime. I hear the seventh and sixth graders are a lot of fun, too.

The Diamond Eighth Grade Class won the first ever Project CAT competition. They chose a lock-in for their prize. The lock-in included karaoke, dodge ball, scooter races, basketball, volleyball, music, pizza and games. Fifty-five eighth graders attended. Some of the memories of the night (and morning) are captured on this page.

The giant crayon that the winning team in the scooter relay race won was a prized possession as Jake Newsum found out after Katie Dodson and Kyle Lowry ganged up on him.

"Pass the pizza, please," an ever-polite Alyssa Simpson may have said before taking matters into her own hands. From left, Jacob Nelson, Jacque Lasiter, Carrie Castor, Alyssa Simpson and Vicki Holmes.

The Eighth Grade Lock-In was a night full of memories and Alex Chavana recorded many of them.

One of the highlights of the lock-in was the musical contribution of drummer Paul Holland.

Alyssa Simpson and Leanne Ross performed a show-stopping duet during the karaoke segment of Saturday morning's activities.

Fortunately, small children were not around when the Faculty Five performed rousing versions of "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," and "That Old Time Rock and Roll." From left, Ms. Denise Mounts, Mrs. Racheal Madden, Mrs. Renee Jones, Mr. Randy Turner and Mr. Grant Reed. The five signed more than 1,000 autographs after their performance. Unfortunately, they couldn't get anyone to take them.
